Armada’s ORNADA Just Changed The Ski Movie Game Forever.

The vibrant, dynamic score builds on the tension established by the often death-defying ski runs performed by some of the world’s most accomplished and talented skiers, many of whom were in attendance at the screening. Athletes including [Tanner] Hall, Dani Bacher, Kim Boberg and Phil Casabon are all shown in action, skiing mountains and city streets.

People attach moments in their lives to specific songs, [Phil Casabon] noted, like the time one of their best friends got married. When they watch Ornada for the first time, however, those mental pathways will form anew, unclouded by previous memories. During the movie’s flagship premieres, the novelty will be more dramatic, with the band providing a live musical accompaniment on stage. They’ll play jazz instruments, bend genres, and improvise as skiers surge across the screen behind them. Created in direct conversation with the skiing on screen, the score brings together composers, instrumentalists, producers, and artists, moving fluidly across jazz, electronic music, hip-hop, cinematic composition, and improvisation.

Performed live with the film at sold-out premieres across North America and Europe, the score became an integral part of ORNADA’s storytelling—transforming the film into a fully integrated audiovisual performance.
